It has incredible elastomeric characteristics being able to repeatedly stretch to over 8 times its normal length without permanent deformation. It is incredibly flexible but has very high tear strength and a high coefficient of friction. The surface of the material is relatively inert allowing it to be used in contact with food, chemicals etc without issue. It also has excellent abrasion resistance and sound and vibration absorbing properties.
